Produce 11: Mangoes

 Hey all,

I love mangoes! The mango I like best are Ataulfo mangoes! There are other varieties of mangoes out there that aren't the yellow ones, but I will refer to the other similar green eating mangoes as Kent variety to keep it simple as that is one of the green/red ones usually in the grocery store.

I find that the Kent mangoes are a little on the pulpy side or taste a little stringy. The ataulfo mangoes are more smooth.

Mangoes like a lot of produce have a lot of health benefits. They are chock full of nutrients too.

They are an excellent source of daily vitamin C, contain vitamin E, vitamin A, folate (aka vitamin B9), magnesium, potassium, vitamin B6 and vitamin K

Mangoes are a good way to get your daily fiber. They help with digestion and being able to pass waste.

Mangoes are good for weight loss and they help you feel less hungry and not feel like wanting to crash and they are lower in calories too!

Because some of the vitamins in mangoes are antioxidants, mangoes are really good for you and help your hair and skin be more healthy and prevent damage to both

Mangoes help manage both blood pressure and cholesterol, often lowering blood pressure

Mangoes also prevent at least five different types of cancer
