Giant Tiger: The Lifeblood for Grocery Deals
Hey all,
I have always loved Giant Tiger. Giant Tiger is a Canadian discount grocery/department store that has been around for quite a few decades, but the Atlantic provinces, including the one I live in, have just opened Giant Tigers in the last 2 decades. They are growing fast. They have always been great for deals for clothes, household items, and especially groceries. This is especially true in an era where everything is quite expensive and everyone is pretty much struggling.
The grocery aspect is the aspect I want to mainly focus on. They have good produce deals most weeks. I get a lot of my produce there, and sometimes I go to Atlantic Superstore for produce, but Giant Tiger is where it is at!
Often, the baby carrots my guinea pig Hashbrown, and I eat, are 97 cents for a 12oz bag. Celery is often $1.49 to $1.97. I can often get good prices for romaine hearts for Hashbrown there as well. Apples are often on sale in a 3lb bag. The bell peppers often come on for 3.97 for a 3pack. Hashbrown loves those and so do I. The onions often come on sale too.
I find even the shelf stable and bakery sections are reasonable too. Sometimes I get deals on the frozen section for ice cream and egg rolls. Often bread is on sale. My favorite naan bread is cheaper at Giant Tiger. It is usually $2.77 and sometimes goes on sale for between $2.27 and $2.57!
There are also nice clothing as well as reasonably priced home goods in there like towels and bed sheets. Curtains are nice and cheap too.
They often also have sales on stuff like toilet paper and cleaning supplies! They also have their own store brand version of Lysol wipes and they work well too!
