Just 3 dishes, Just 3 spoons: Doing 5 min and 15 minute tasks when you don't know where to start cleaning

 Have you ever found yourself not wanting to do the dishes? Do you not know where to start cleaning or tidying? Does anxiety cause you to not want to clean?

Challenge yourself to do just 3 dishes and/or 3 spoons. If you have a timer or a virtual assistant such as an Alexa, you can time yourself for 5, 10 or even 15 minutes and you can try to do little 5 minute tasks or anything that will take a minute or less to complete. It's not as difficult as you have led yourself to believe in your brain! I start out doing a few dishes and then I surprise myself by getting it all done in 7 mins. I live on my own so dishes may not be that daunting but sometimes you just want to sit down for 5 more minutes.

Here are some tasks you can do in a fifteen minute period:

1.Dishes

2. Dust a couple of surfaces

3. disinfect/clean one of your counters in kitchen

4. sweep a part of a room

5. clean a mirror

6. Put laundry in a hamper


This is not a full list. You can get creative with what you wish to do in 5-15mins!

You'll be surprised by what you can get done in just 5 mins. 15 mins gives you even more creative time to get things done. You can reward yourself afterwards with 5-15 mins of fun time and layer it that way!
