Take care of your Teeth!

 Hey all,

I had been stressed out about going to the dentist for awhile now. The last time I went was in 2019. I had an appointment in 2020 but was afraid of covid so I kept putting it off. I tried to make an appointment and couldn't get anyone. I finally made an appointment in December 2022 for April. I knew I was having issues with some teeth because of neglect. I had been depressed for awhile and my brushing was not enough. Two of my teeth are broken.

But, my neglect is even worse than I thought because when I went to the dentist, the dentist was floored by my issues. Three teeth need to come out and I have like soooo many cavities. Originally the third tooth might have needed a root canal but it is un-saveable now. All of this could be avoided if I had been more diligent in brushing my teeth as well as flossing them. This is even more stressful than I thought. The two teeth that need to come out are being referred to an oral surgeon nearby outside my dental clinic.

I urge you all, whether you are depressed and/or you're one of those autistic people who hate brushing their teeth (I don't hate brushing my teeth, I just got lazy and was depressed, which unfortunately doesn't excuse it) because of sensory issues, please for the love of gawd, brush your damn teeth! Minimum two times a day brushing, ideally three minimum. One after breakfast, one after lunch, one before bed. You are welcome to brush more than 3 times a day. Floss once daily. Mouthwash I think is a plus to swish bad stuff out. It's best if you use a soft toothbrush so your gums don't get hurt! Apparently dentists say you can floss more than once a day.

I had started this post a month ago and since seeing the dentist the first time I broke one of the teeth that needed to come out. There is some breakage with the third tooth too. I'm seeing a specialist in a couple of months to consult about pulling the three teeth at the advice of my dentist.
